Poseidon International Maritime is founded by Mr. Thomas Mantis, who has been honorably serving the international community for many years. A former chief mate in the Greek Merchant Marine, he pursued International Trade studies at New York University where he received both his B.Sc. and M.B.A. degrees. He also worked in the chartering department of Continental Grain Co. from 1972-77.

Mr. Mantis was previously the founder and president of Astral Shipping, which opened in 1977, and after the sale of Continental Grain Company in July of 1999 he established Poseidon International and continues to offer his dedicated services to the maritime industry. Mr. Mantis remains in active charge and maintains daily contacts with various charterers and vessel owners around the world.
